We’re here to help

Brain injury – sometimes called acquired brain injury (ABI) – is common and a life changing disability. More than 700,000 Australians have a brain injury. Around 75% are men.

Brain injury can be caused by accident or trauma, drug and alcohol abuse, following a stroke, or developing a brain infection or a brain disease such as meningitis or Parkinson’s disease.

Brain injury or death can also occur if a GP, doctor or other health professional fails to diagnose an aneurism. An aneurism occurs when blood passes through a weakened blood vessel. An aneurism can lead to serious brain injury and/or death.

Immediate diagnosis and treatment are required. If a medical professional fails to properly investigate or diagnose an aneurism you may have a claim for medical negligence.

Brain injuries can bring a great deal of pain and suffering and can significantly impact an individual’s capacity to work and their family life.

If your injury was caused by negligent medical treatment, you can claim compensation via a negligence claim.

While brain injuries are not always easy to detect, our health and medical negligence lawyers can help people seek compensation for the physical and psychological pain and suffering, the cost of care for activities of daily living, medical and physical support expenses, and loss of income loss due to negligent diagnosis or treatment.
