Catherine Henry Lawyers is a finalist in the upcoming Australian Law Awards.

The firm is one of 10 finalists vying for the Regional-Suburban Law Firm of the Year.

Principal, Catherine Henry, said she was honoured by the nomination which is a credit to her dedicated and experienced team of health law, elder law, family law, insurance law, property law, and wills and estate planning lawyers.

“To be considered one of the top regional law firms in all of Australia is very satisfying,” Catherine said.

The firm’s expertise as a leading provider of legal services to people in regional NSW has been recognised in a number of awards in recent years.

Catherine won the Regional-Suburban Lawyer of the Year in last year’s Australian Law Awards. She also won the national Civil Justice Award in 2020 and is the 2021 Newcastle Woman of the Year. The firm and Catherine were finalists in the 2020 Australian Women in Law Awards.

The award accolades come on top of Catherine and the firm’s ongoing recognition in the prestigious Doyles Guide lists of NSW’s top medical negligence compensation lawyers and law firms.

She said she and her team are passionate about using the law to gain justice for people whose lives have often been torn apart because of poor healthcare or aged care.

“The evidence shows that people in regional NSW have poorer access to services and have poorer outcomes than people living in capital cities,” she said.

“Litigation is a way to hit poor operators and providers in their hip pockets – to force positive change in professional and care standards.”

The Australian Law Awards is in its 21st year. The winners will be announced in Sydney in December.
