Our firm’s Principal, Catherine Henry, has been named an inspiring business woman in an article in the Daily Telegraph’s The Newcastle News.
The story listed 20 women whom it described as “passionate and dedicated women, who are strong advocates for diversity, equality and putting Newcastle and the Hunter on the map as leaders in their industries.”
Here’s what the article said about Catherine…
She’s a health and aged care lawyer with 36 years experience and continues to grow her Newcastle based law firm.
A strong advocate for the vulnerable, Ms Henry devotes considerable personal time and her firm’s resources to supporting community causes, and calling for healthcare, legal and aged-care reform.
The aged care crusader – who was behind a push for a “Ruby Princess style” inquiry into the coronavirus-stricken aged care Newmarch facility in Sydney – has also successfully steered her firm through the pandemic without job cuts or loss of hours.
She admits business can be tough, but also very rewarding.
“My advice to other business women is to back yourself, surround yourself with lots of great support, and just go for it,” she said.
A winner of the 2020 national ALA Civil Justice award, Ms Henry convenes the Newcastle chapter of Women Lawyers and is also on the University of Newcastle’s Law School Advisory Board.
