Linda Crawford is a Senior Solicitor in the health law team
Linda worked as a nurse and midwife in NSW and Queensland hospitals for 17 years before becoming a lawyer. She has a strong understanding of the health system and the ability to quickly assess poor clinical outcomes to determine whether there is the prospect of a viable negligence claim.
With so much of the firm’s medical negligence work arising in areas such as birth trauma – including maternal birth trauma – and gynaecological procedures, Linda’s midwifery and nursing experience is invaluable when assessing claims and explaining medical evidence to our clients – many of whom are women.
Working with our inhouse nurse, Alex Wilson, Linda is able to quickly get to the crux of a case because she knows what the clinical practice should have been.
Linda obtained her legal qualifications from the University of NSW and has most recently worked for the NSW Crown Solicitor’s Office as a Senior Solicitor.
Linda is highly experienced in litigation and has worked in matters involving guardianship, health regulatory issues and discrimination. She has worked on many coronial inquests and inquiries as solicitor briefing Counsel assisting the Coroner in cases involving unexplained deaths and deaths involving medical issues.
At Catherine Henry Lawyers, she relishes the opportunity to work on matters that can lead to improved clinical outcomes for consumers.
“I believe in social justice and a fair and equitable society in which individuals can access the help they need regardless of social status. Nursing and the law have enabled me to help those most in need during the most vulnerable moments in their lives.”
