4 to 5 years PAE

  • Looking for a lifestyle change?
  • Keen to have the opportunity to do major city quality work in a regional location?

You may already be working as a medical lawyer but contemplating – or open to – a sea change and therefore interested in exploring this position at a respected, dynamic mid-tier firm based in one of Australia’s most vibrant, liveable coastal cities.

Are you a talented and experienced personal injury solicitor interested in moving into the specialist field of medical and health law and working in a key role with some of the country’s most well-known medical lawyers?

The role

We’re looking for an experienced personal injury or medical lawyer. A lawyer who is comfortable investigating and managing a portfolio of complex health law and medical negligence claims as part of a team of specialist lawyers and support staff. Someone who agrees with our philosophy of playing hard but fair in order to get the best possible outcome for our clients in difficult but important cases.

Whilst our health lawyers largely act in medical negligence matters with a client base that covers NSW, ACT and further afield in certain cases, we also regularly handle health regulatory matters for the full range of health professionals, inquests and health transactional work.

The location

We’re based in the Newcastle CBD, a 5-minute walk from Newcastle’s fabulous surfing beaches and harbor – not to mention walking tracks, cycleways, mountain-biking trails and all manner of sporting facilities. You might be pleasantly surprised to compare the benefits of housing affordability, traffic and quality schools on offer in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Hunter region — all within easy reach of your new workplace.

We also have an office in Sydney.

More about you

With 4 to 5 years of post-admission experience (PAE), you are ready to take your career to the next level and be part of our strong team of specialised lawyers.

You have demonstrated, broad expertise in all aspects of Personal Injury (Plaintiff) Law and possibly medical negligence.

Reporting directly to our Team Leaders, your ability is proven when it comes to managing work (professional and administrative) to maximise quality service delivery and operational efficiency.
