Breaking Up Is (not) Hard To Do – With EDivorce

Applying for a divorce has become a whole lot simpler with the Family Court of Australia and Federal Circuit Court of Australia’s eDivorce strategy.  eDivorce is a completely electronic process through which parties file an application for divorce via an interactive form, which guides them through the process, step-by-step.

The interactive form allows clients to assess their eligibility to apply for divorce in Australia and to ensure they have all the documents and/or evidence needed to apply. Specific queries such as “inability to locate a spouse” and “marriages under 2 years” are catered for with dynamic content that expands when clicked.

The move to eDivorce will benefit applicants in the following ways:

  • No need to visit or queue at registries
  • Payments to file are securely processed online
  • 24/7 access to files is available
  • Options to select the most suitable court date
  • An option to receive email notifications and alerts on status of a matter

A LiveChat facility is available during business hours or via email.

Clients who do not have access to the internet are still able to contact the National Enquiry Centre to request an electronic or hard copy of the kit on 1300 352 000.
